Introduction
Vijnana Bharati: An Introduction

Vijnana Bharati (Swadeshi Science Movement)
Vijnana Bharati, rooted in the ethos of Swadeshi science, is a powerful force driving scientific innovation with a distinctly Indian perspective.
The movement originated from the Swadeshi Science Movement, initiated at the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, under the visionary guidance of Prof. K. I. Vasu. It evolved into a national entity during the Nagpur meet in 1991, where leading scientific minds decided to expand the movement across India, officially naming it Vijnana Bharati.
Today, Vijnana Bharati operates across 35 units in India and has a presence in 9 countries globally, fostering scientific growth with a focus on Indian traditions and innovation.
